  • ESPN has seen bigger gains with A18-49  (19%  vs. 13%) and among A25-54 (19% vs. 15%)  compared to TNT when looking at the current season vs. the 20-21 regular season average.    

Week 17

  • Lakers/Warriors on ABC Saturday Primetime averaged 3.6 million total viewers and 1.2 million A18-49, up +59% and +51% versus the 2020-21 Saturday Primetime average. 

Week 16

  • Knicks/Lakers averaged 2.6 million viewers and almost 900K A18-49, up +14% and +10% versus the 2020-21 Saturday Primetime average.  
  • Although NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage dominated the TV landscape, Knicks/Lakers delivered the 2nd-largest primetime audience among viewers and all key demos. 

Week 15

  • In Week 15, ESPN’s four games averaged 1.2 million viewers and  over 500K A18-49, up +13% and +9% versus the previous week of games. 
  • Despite the absence of Kevin Durant and James Harden, ABC Saturday Primetime’s return between the Nets and Warriors averaged 3.2 million viewers, the 5th most-viewed NBA game of the season across all networks. 

Week 14

  • In Week 14, ESPN’s 3 games averaged 1 Million total viewers and over 480K A18-49. 
  •  NBA Short-form Video views are up significantly from last season. 

Week 13

  • The NBA on ESPN is up double digits among key demos and is seeing larger growth compared to TNT among A18-49/A25-54 versus 2020-21’s full regular season average.   
  • On NBA-TV, Klay Thompson’s January 9th return from injury, Was the network’s most-viewed game since January 2016.  We hope his return could boost viewership on future Warriors games on ABC, including 1/29 Brooklyn vs. Golden State. 

Week 12

  • ESPN’s  games averaged 1.5 Million total viewers and over 700K A18-49, ranking as the 3 most-viewed games of the week on key demos. 
  • Bucks vs. Nets on January 7th, pulled in 1.5 Million total viewers, making it Milwaukee’s most-viewed ESPN game of the season (through 5 appearances.)

Week 11

  • The NBA on ESPN is up double digits on key demos versus 2020-21’s full regular season average 
  • 5 of ESPN’s 35 games have eclipsed the 2 million audience threshold, already more than double the number of the entire 2020-21 season (2 in 87 games.)

Week 10

  • ESPN/ABC’s five Christmas Day games averaged over 4 Million Total Viewers and 1.7 Million A18-49, down slightly versus Christmas Day 2020.   
  • The three ABC Christmas Day games were the highest rated of the NBA season on Total Viewers and all key demos. 

Week 9

  • The NBA on ESPN is up double digits on key demos versus 2020-21’s full regular season average. 
  • ESPN pulled in four of the five highest rated NBA games of the week among Total Viewers and A18-49. 

Week 8

  • ABC’s Saturday Primetime saw a great start, with the Warriors/76ers game up double digits on key demos vs. the 20-21 Saturday Primetime average. It was the most-viewed Saturday Prime game since March 2019. 
  • Through 28 games, the NBA on ESPN is up double digits with Total Viewers and among A18-49 versus 2020-21’s full regular season average.   

Week 7

  • Through 28 games, the NBA on ESPN is up double digits with Total Viewers and among A18-49 versus 2020-21’s full regular season average.
  • Overall through Week 8, ESPN NBA Basketball viewers were +37% more likely to search for advertising in games, than viewers searching based on spots they saw during Broadcast/Cable Prime.
